  • Facilitated communication and collaboration among sub-teams to ensure robot functionality (e.g. informing programming team of hardware changes).
  • Mentored new members by assigning tasks based on skill level and explaining how tasks fit in with team’s overall goals.

Programming Responsibilities:

  • Wrote software to control competitive robots for the FIRST (Java) and BEST (C++) Robotics Competitions. Features included movement from Xbox controllers, reading color sensor and gyroscope data, and PID loops for regulating speed,
  • In 2021, I designed and implemented an autonomous driving system using computer vision models and data from camera feeds and sensors. Our team won the Autonomous Award for the competition.

Results:

  • FIRST Robotics Competition (complex, big-budget robots): 2018: 5th at regional; 2019: 3rd at regional.
  • BEST Robotics Competition (simple, budget-constrained robots): 2017: 9th at local competition; 2018: 1st at local, 8th at regional; 2019: 2nd at local, 13th at regional.
